What Makes a Film Worthwhile?
How do you feel when you walk into a theater nowadays? Are you still feeling that same joy and wonder you had when you were a kid or that 15 year old dork going to the mall with your friends? What was it about those Friday nights growing up that regardless of the movie, you felt invincible and apart of a moment…
Maybe Nicole Kidman is on to something… I don’t know if I can get behind the silver bedazzled outfit and heels but that’s for another day.. And if that's your thing, go you!
As I have started back on this journey towards the creative field of film, art, acting, or whatever is floating my boat, there is this newfound energy.. Movies feel fun again. Even the bad ones.. Not going to mention which ones here. You can find those on the instagram page or the long form video formats that are soon to come.
Maybe what makes a film worthwhile is giving it an experience that is unique to you. It feels that more than ever as a society, we need to find that spark that so many generations before us found in this beautiful art form. How do we get it going again? Is the answer really only big blockbuster movies? At times, sure, that carries some weight. Maybe its conversations outside of the theater…
I hope that is what we can supply here.. Until next time, keep yourself curious and go to movies, even the ones you don’t think are going to be worthwhile.
